Foodgrains are provided to NFSA beneficiaries between June 2021 and May 2021
As part of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, more than 63.67 lakh tons of food grain have been removed out of FCI depots by state and the union territory. Foodgrains were given to authorities of the Central Government to 55 crores NFSA beneficiaries across the 34 union territory states by May 2021. This distribution of food grains amounts to around 28 lakh metric tons. Additionally, approximately 1.3 millimetric tonnes worth of grain were given in the form of manure to 2.6 million NFSA beneficiaries in June 2021. Food grains were distributed to 95 percent and 12percent (respectively) from NFSA beneficiaries as part of the National Food Security Act in the months of May and June 2021. The amount is thirteen thousand crores of rupees has been allocated on behalf of the federal government.

The scope of the Prime Minister’s Garib Kalyan Yojana was extended to Deepawali
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana was launched by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi Ji due to coronavirus infections. The totality of the allocation was also lifted by five North Eastern States. The five states are Arunachal Pradesh Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. Lifting food grains is being carried in the direction of Manipur as well as Assam and in the near future, 100% lifting will be performed by these states as well.
Expansion of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana in 2021
This program was introduced through the government’s March of 2020. This scheme is a component of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package. In this scheme, 5 kg of grain food items (wheat/rice) along with 1 kg of pulses are distributed to those who have ration cards from the Central Government.
